When the sun rays hit the panels, electrical energy is produced and converted into 50 Hz, 220 V by the inverter. The electricity produced feeds directly the loads and the surplus will charge the batteries. Usually, In an off-grid system there is no public electricity grid. Once solar power is used by the appliances in your property, any excess power will be sent to your battery bank. Once the battery is full it will stop receiving power from the solar system.
DURING THE NIGHT /CLOUDY DAYS
During the night, the loads will be fed from the battery bank. For the times of the year when batteries are low on charge and the weather is very cloudy, a back-up source will be needed (grid or Generator), as the inverter will bypass the electricity needed for them.
